Out come the leaves - over night

When we left for Spain, England was still pretty much a leafless, barren landscape. Well, after the trip to Spain, we woke up one morning and realized it was Spring... which means it's time for hikes, festivals, al fresco dining and showing off our skills!

Check out Sandy and her newly acquired rope skills...

We spend a lot of our time pondering deep, philosophical questions about our identity...

The Howgill fells provided some nice leg-stretching for the girls out to Cautley Spout,

while Sam disappeared in the distant fells.

The girls made fast friends with some of the locals,

and then retired to the Temperance Pub (that is temperance as in no booze) to wait for Da. This is the Cross Keys Inn. It has been a Temperance pub since the beginning of the 20th century and is run by a family of Quakers! Very nice folks.

Spring is the time for many Dales communities to put on their fantastic Yorkshire Dales Food and Ale festivals. They are really nice events with local products, local ales and loads of entertainment.

Did I mention it was Spring?
